Mel Brooks is one of my favorite directors and as I was watching Blazing Saddles (1974) at 2 in the morning, I noticed the scene where Lilly Von Schtupp, the German show girl, says something almost word for word to a scene in The Producers (2006) another Mel Brooks film, where Will Ferrell plays a neo-Nazi. Blew my mind a little bit. They also both share a German lisp and ties to the Nazi party.
