Spaceballs: A Fake Criterion Cover

redvd1:

I finally got it!
So as you may or may not know a while back I dropped a couple of Mel Brooks posters. I really really meant to do at least one or two more…but I hit a wall. But as I was wrapping up my last poster, this little number came to mind.
The movie that introduced me to Mr. Brooks: Spaceballs. Not the man’s best work by any means, but certainly not his worst and I’ve been watching it since I was a kid…so there haha.
This one, like those before it, focuses on a joke I thought was particularly funny in the movie. The “Ludicrous Speed” bit has to be the funniest in the movie (though for the life of me I still don’t get the whole “gone to plaid” thing haha). To double your pleasure I made a nod to the more socially aware “Merchandising!” gag. I think it’s funny anyway haha. Hopefully this will hold you over until I come up with a good design for History of the World Part I.
Enjoy =)
